Many of you would have heard the term 'Movember' coined off handedly over the last few years, thinking, at first, as if it was some sort of reference to a Dr. Seuss book rather than a fast-growing global organisation in support of The Prostate Cancer Charity. Movember is in fact a month where men around the globe attempt to grow a moustache, and only a moustache, for the entire month of November.
The idea behind it is to help raise awareness and funds for men's health; Specifically prostate cancer. One man dies of prostate cancer every hour in the UK alone and more than 35,000 will be diagnosed this year. It is the most common cancer in men in the UK, so an operation such as Movember is vital in helping secure a victory in the long going battle against it. Cascade has been in support of Movember for the last 3 years and calls on one and all to take part in raising awareness of prostate cancer in men. You don't HAVE to grow a moustache to support Movember, you can simply click on the bottom link and make a donation of your choice.
Every little bit helps: http://uk.movember.com/mospace/436894 What started out as a get together between friends in small-town Australia, it is now global and more and more volunteers are joining in the fight for men's health. Their aim is to get as many people as possible growing moustaches to support the cause. This is a scary thought in itself because once we humans have won our victory over cancer and triumphed over adversity, we will face a new problem: How will we get rid of all these moustaches? http://uk.movember.com/
