Allow us to begin the first blog entry of 2012 by wishing you a very happy and prosperous new year. The turn of the year is always a time for reflection on the year gone by and a chance to look forward, in excited anticipation, to the year ahead. For many of us this culminates in us identifying things we dislike about ourselves, and resolving to change them in the new year. I hear what you’re thinking and no, this isn’t yet another blog about how to find the motivation to remain enslaved to your New Year’s detox or chained to the treadmill; it’s simply our chance to let you know about some of the exciting things coming up at Cascade and in the world of contracting over the next twelve months…
The new beginnings have already started at Cascade, with the arrival of a new addition to our New Business Team; you’ll be introduced to Mark officially in due course, via our website, twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Our communication with you via our website and social media is only going to grow in 2012, so make sure you’re following, liking and connecting with us through every possible medium to ensure you are fully up to speed with all of the news from Cascade and the world of contracting, as well as the first to know about any competitions or special events.
In celebration of the launch of our new website and Facebook page in 2011 we held a long-awaited client event in November at the lovely Bluu Bar in the heart of the City. Cascade’s client drinks evenings have always proved popular; they’re a fantastic opportunity to network and mingle with fellow contractors and the Cascade team, to introduce friends and colleagues to the benefits Cascade can offer and they are also a chance for us to thank you for your continuing support. We may just be hosting some more client drinks evenings in 2012, so make sure you keep in touch with us so that you don’t miss out!
In addition to these very relaxed, informal and fun events, which have long been a favourite with our contractors, in 2011 we listened to your views and also introduced some more formal, structured seminars, to give you more information about the things that really matter to you as contractors. We are committed to keeping you up to date with changes in the contracting world, such as the introduction of the new Agency Worker Regulations (AWR) and our seminars proved to be a very successful way to do this. You can therefore expect to see more of these over the next year, so watch this space.
We will also be building on our 2011 success in raising money for some very deserving charities. Four Cascade employees grew some fetching facial furniture during the month of Movember and managed to raise £576 for men’s health charities. We think the female members of the team need to raise their game in 2012, so we’ll keep you posted on whatever fabulous fundraising feats we decide to embark on, and I’m sure there will be some more great photos for your entertainment once we reach Movember 2012.
…And just as the year rolls happily from beginning to end, this first entry has come full circle to end where it began, with us once again wishing you a wonderfully healthy, wealthy and happy 2012!
